Evaluation4. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Evaluation 3.What have you learned from your audience feedback?

)

Evaluation 2.How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

Evaluation1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

From Left to Right, Top to Bottom:
1. This shot shows the main artist in our video who is decay and lonely. This shot we are inspired by a music video which is "When you are gone". In that video the director always use mid shot to show the artist are lonely.

2. This shot shows the singer in our video who with a white top. We use high key lighting because in our video she represent a story teller, like a anger. We can see a lot of similar shot in the original "Perfect" music video.

3.It’s a long shot which could shows how lonely she is. She is very tiny when the viewer compare her with the tree. This shot shows a lot in "what the hell" music video.

4.It’s a mid-shot shows the main artist walking around and singing with a guitar. Lots of Taylor Swift music video we can see she is playing a guitar.

5.It’s a close up shot which could let the viewer gain the eyes contact with the singer. Almost every single one mucis video have the similar shot.

6.High key lighting with the singer. This shot shows how mad she is and she wants to change the fact but there is nothing she could do. We used a strong light here to make the atmosphere more series. In the original mucis video the director used a lots shot like this.

7.Mid shot shows the main artist is very decay and want to give up herself by drinking beer. In a lots of Korean music video they have similar shot which shows the artist is drunk and can't walk proporly such as "Crooked" by G-Dragon. Also the idea we used very colourful custome is inpired by him too.

8.Here is a cross cutting between two artist. This shot shows to the viewer that both of they are suffering and thinking the same thing. It's inspired by Kelly Clarkson music video called"Because of you" which has a cross cutting between younger and elder artsit.

9.This is a cloes up showing the artist can’t stand it anymore so she broke her gurtar and steped on it. It's inspired by "So what"which pink broken a guitar in this music video.

2. I like the black and white one because it look really cool.

3. I will choose the black and white one because i like the face on the top, the colour one got too many flowers on it.

4. I like the face on the colour one which is really red but overall i prefer the black and white one.

Digi 6. How the sales of CDs have changed in the last five years.

cd graphcd table
From a peak of 785.1 million albums sold in 2000, the sales of albums have dropped 58.45%, to just 326.2 million in 2010. Increases in sales of digital tracks have not made up the difference. Using 10 digital tracks as one Track Equivalent Album makes lowers the decrease to 43.52%, at 443.4 million track-equivalent albums sold. As the graph above shows
Here is a very interesting article about how a decade of iTunes killed the music industry.
When the first CD was introduced, it was predicted it would only last 20-25 years. It's now around 25 years later and you can still buy CD's from shops. In the last 5 years CD sales have dropped quickly, mostly due to an increase in illegal downloads. 2006-2005 saw a drop of more than 25% over 2 years, and 52% in the last 9 years. However Time magazine found that in 2011 there was a 1.33% increase in sales. This slight increase is thought to be because of Adele's album 21, selling 260,000 copies in 30 weeks. Although record sales have been muted by illegal downloads, artists are still making money off of festivals/concerts and download sites such as iTunes and Spotify. There is also a lot more money in endorsements and sponsorship now than there was in the past.

Digi4. star image rules

I have been focusing on star image on the album covers, and have been interested to see a prominent links between all photos portraying the artist on the digipak cover.

  • the star should be well definite in the image.
  • the image quality must be very good.
  • mise en scene must be in keeping  with the continuing styles of the artists
  • style of cover artwork should be the same as the style of music video

Digi3. difference between digipak and CD

This is CD

This is Digipak.

There are a number of differences between the two:
A digipak refers to a certain kind of CD case, the one that I will be designing. It essentially consists of a plastic disc tray that has been glued inside a folded cardboard case. Digipak once referred specifically to the patented digipak packaging but has now become a genericized trademark that is basically used for any cardboard centred CD packaging.
They are made of paper, and despite this they were once considered the environmentally friendly version of CD cases, however they have remained less common due to the fact that they can survive less wear and tear than jewel cases, particularly when they are in the store, on top of this they have higher manufacturing costs.

A jewel case/ CD case consists of 3 peices of plastic put together to create a protective case for the disc. The plastic disc pinner is generally the same as in the digipack, yet information about the CD including the case is pinned in to the front of the case, and printed onto separate paper. The back artwork can be held securely in place between the CD and back plastic.

why i feel digipak is better:

The digipak has 6 sides, therefore there will be more opportunity for visible artwork, information or promotions. This way the artist has a better chance at attracting potential buyers, such as fans, as they will see the digipak as more than just a disc of music, it is a collectable item as well. In comparison to the jewel case, all of this additional information is easier accessible, the sleeve in a jewel case is easily ripped when removed or put back into the plastic grips, making it unappealing to remove. On a digipak all information is very easily accessible.

include:

  • The artist name
  • The album title
  • The names of the songs on the album
  • The copyright label
  • The record company
  • Album credits
  • Album artwork
  • Barcode
  • Disc holder
